Our Story
(We thought about having ChatGPT shorten this… but that’s lame)
Like any good love story, this one starts with following each other on Instagram & Facebook before college had even started. Tim first saw Caroline IRL from afar on Lafayette College’s beloved quad on the first day of orientation (and obviously fell in love immediately). Caroline and Tim first met at a Club Soccer + Club Baseball party. They had an instant friendship, as Caroline likes to say, and would run into each other dancing to Closer by the Chainsmokers at the Ranch and trying (failing) to get work done at the big groups tables in the basement of Skillman Library.
Their story evolved around Halloween 2017, when both were at the iconic Lafayette dive bar, Milos. Caroline approached Tim asking for his number, despite already having it (she’s really good at flirting). Tim laughed it off knowing they already had each others numbers & had previously texted. So naturally, she then repeated this same play the following weekend and it worked. The two began to see each other more outside of frat parties, with their first actual date being in Boston MA during their January break while Caroline was an extern with the MA State House. Tim surprised her with dinner at Maggiano’s (pasta pic below). After their first date, Tim went home to his family who asked if he and Caroline were dating, to which he said “I guess.” As the two went into their second semester of Sophomore year, they mutually decided they were in fact dating.
Throughout college, they enjoyed Phi Psi x DG parties, traveling abroad, visiting each others homes, and never being in the same place for the summer at the same time! Music became a major backdrop to their love story at this point - spending time listening & going to the concerts of Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, Mt Joy, and Caamp. Listening back to these songs reminds both of them how lasting their love has been. They graduated in 2020 during Covid and began to enter the real world, Tim working at Amazon & Caroline working at Conductor. Caroline also became a (dog) mom to her baby Kona.
And truly, like ANY good story… there was an intermission! The two independently forged their own path as young adults in separate cities. However, their paths would cross (intentionally) throughout the time they were apart, and they entered into their own drama series for some time. Eventually, Tim decided to move to the city he hated the most (New York) to win back the girl he loved the most (Caroline…duh). Tim hadn’t even finished moving in, and Caroline had already texted him to go for a walk. Later that summer, Tim’s mission was deemed successful when Caroline confessed her love for him (again) at a Caamp concert in Central Park :)
With Tim leaving Amazon to follow his passion for teaching, together they decided that Denver, CO would be a place they both want to venture to next. They spent a year doing long distance, with Caroline still in NY. Their friend Anne Marie’s wise words kept them sane through this time “this is the longest you will ever be apart.” Now, the two have been living in Colorado for the past 2 years, expanding their family to 2 pups - Kona & Chowder.
Tim planned the most perfect proposal that obviously didn’t go to plan, but ended up beyond ideal anyway. He proposed at Pawling Mountain Club (Caroline’s late grandfather’s hunting club) on December 26, 2025. Caroline first took Tim to Pawling in Summer 2018 (left pic) and shared how special of a place it was for her + her family. He couldn’t think of a better place to propose, just 7.5 years later!
Together, their days are filled with:
Family runs on the Highline Canal with the dogs
Tim re-twisting the tops of containers after Caroline “swears she closed it all the way”
Caroline cooking chicken cutlets for Tim because there are NONE in Colorado
Tim taking Caroline’s yoga class and always shouting “WOO” when she asks how the class is doing
Caroline laughing at the songs & jingles that Tim makes up about everything around them
They can’t wait to start this next chapter - together, forever. Let’s celebrate!!!
